Augusta RiverHawks News Release
The Augusta RiverHawks Hockey Club announces that team trainer and equipment manager Brian Patafie has submitted his resignation. Patafie was one of the first members of the RiverHawks organization, joining the team at its inception in 2010.
"The RiverHawks would like to thank Brian for all of his hard work during our inaugural season," said RiverHawks' General Manager Mark Richards. "His years of experience and knowledge of the local community were invaluable to our team during our run to the President's Cup Final, and he was an invaluable resource for Coach Ralph all season long."
It was Patafie's second stint in Augusta, initially filling the same role with the Augusta Lynx for five seasons.
The RiverHawks will be interviewing candidates to fill the role in the near future.
"Brian wants to see the team succeed and is being extremely helpful and professional during this time of transition," said Richards. "We're looking forward to adding a hard-working individual to our organization that will continue to help us build a winning tradition and positively affect the community here in the CSRA."
The RiverHawks open the Southern Professional Hockey League's season with a home game against the Mississippi Surge in a rematch of the 2010-11 President's Cup Final. The game will be played on Phoenix Refrigeration Ice at the James Brown Arena on Thursday, October 20th at 7:35pm.
Season tickets are on sale for the 2011-12 season and are available through the RiverHawks' front office at 706-993-2645. Information on the team and tickets is available at www.augustariverhawks.com.
