Columbus claimed forward Lonnie Harrell from the available player pool.

Harrell, the NBDL career record holder for games played (106) and games started (99), was released by the Huntsville Flight on Nov. 21. A second round (10th overall) selection in the 2001 NBDL Draft by the Flight, the former Northeastern product has scored 1,318 points over the last two seasons in the NBDL, good enough for fifth all-time and making him the leading active scorer in the league.

His NBDL career scoring and rebounding averages are 12.4 and 3.7, respectively. Harrell will wear jersey #21 in his Riverdragons debut tomorrow night against Asheville.

To make room for Harrell, the Riverdragons released swingman Tai Crutchfield, a 10th round selection (56th overall) in this yearÂ’s draft. Crutchfield appeared in one regular season game for Columbus, tallying 11 points and two steals in 26 minutes off the bench in the Riverdragons 87-84 season opening loss at Huntsville on November 21.

The Riverdragons open their 2003-04 home schedule tomorrow night, Friday, November 28 as they take on the Asheville Altitude at 7:00 p.m. at the Columbus Civic Center.
