RiverCity Rage News Release

St. Charles, MO - The RiverCity Rage have announced the signing of another standout defender from a Division I college. Defensive back Justin Johnson joins safety Ron Rockett, out of the University of Wyoming, who the team signed last month. Johnson comes to the Rage after playing last season for the Cologne Falcons in the German Football League.

"I am really excited about the versatility Justin will bring to our defense," Rage Head Coach Eric Van Tassel said. "We will be able to move him around to play a lot of positions on the field. Justin made big time plays against big time competition. Anytime you can sign a player of his caliber, with his background, you do it without hesitation."

Prior to his season in Germany, Johnson played strong safety and outside linebacker for Temple University from 2003 - 2005. Previous to his years at Temple, the Denver, CO native played two seasons at Reedley (CA) Junior College where he won a National Championship in 2002 as the team's defensive captain and All-Conference strong safety.

"This is a great opportunity for me at this time in my football career," said Johnson. "I feel that I have the versatility to play the indoor game. I believe that I have the speed to play defensive back and the strength to play linebacker."

The RiverCity Rage Professional Indoor Football team is a member of the United Indoor Football League. All Rage home games are played at The Family Arena in St. Charles, MO. Rage season tickets are now on sale for the 2008 season and prices start for as low as $10. For ticketing information contact the Rage ticket office at (636) 896-4285.
