St. Louis, August 1, 2006-The RiverCity Rage announced this morning August 1, 2006, the hiring of Jarrod Rogol as Director of Media Relations.
Rogol fills the position full-time, which he has been doing on an interim basis since May of this year. The 24-year-old Rogol previously was at Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kansas, with CAPS 13 TV. During his time there, he served as one of three main Sports Analysts and was the Color Commentator for the championship game during the 2006 MIAA Women's Basketball Conference Tournament at Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City, Missouri.
"Since coming here in May, Jarrod has provided our players and coaches with the means of gaining the publicity that they have earned over the last two years," said Tye Elliott, RiverCity Rage Team President. "Jarrod is the type of person that this franchise needs heading up our Media and Public Relations Department as we move into the future. His knowledge of the media industry along with his passion for the indoor game, work ethic and overall character is a great lift to our front office."
Rogol's career is filled with media experience including; currently working as the Head Sports Analyst for AmericanChronicle.com as well as its 21 affiliates, being the 2005 Color Commentator for KWXD 103.5 Thunder Country's High School Football Game of The Week, hosting and producing his own radio show and being an analyst for XFLPro.com during the XFL's only season, among other items.
A native of Saint Louis, and 2001 graduate of Webster Groves High School, he'll transfer to Lindenwood University in Saint Charles, where he will continue working towards his BA in Mass Communication.
Rogol's main responsibility will be to maintain contact with the local, regional, and national media serving as the official liaison between the Rage and all media outlets.
