
River Kings Add Na'Shawn Lewis to 2019 Roster

The Cedar Rapids River Kings have signed defensive back Na'Shawn Lewis to their 2019 Indoor Football League roster.
Lewis (6'1, 210, University of Saint Francis) comes to the River Kings by way of the Champions Indoor Football league. In 2018 with the Amarillo Venom, he totaled 48 tackles, two interceptions, and three forced fumbles.
During his collegiate career at the University of Saint Francis in Fort Wayne, Indiana (2012-2016), Na'Shawn was a part of a recruiting class that would bring the program back to dominance in the Mideast League of the Midstate Football Association. The Cougars went on to make playoff appearances in four of the five years Lewis was at USF and finished first in the MEL three times. In 2016, Na'Shawn's senior season, USF made their fourth-ever appearance in the NAIA Football National Championship and secured their first national title with a win over No. 2 Baker 38-17 at Municipal Stadium in Daytona Beach, Florida.
As a Cougar, Na'Shawn started in 54 total contests and recorded 145 total tackles, five interceptions, and two forced fumbles. He was also named to All-MSFA First Team Defense.
Na'Shawn is originally from Indianapolis, Indiana and played his prep career at Ben Davis High School.
