River Kings Add Former AFCA All-American Linebacker

CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA - The Cedar Rapids River Kings have signed linebacker Jeff Branch to their 2019 IFL roster.

Branch (6-3, 235, Presentation) joins the River Kings for his first season as a member of the IFL. In 2018, he played for the Amarillo Venom of the Champions Indoor Football league (CIF) and earned Second Team All-CIF honors.

During his final two collegiate seasons at Presentation College (South Dakota), Branch recorded 113 total tackles. In a stand-out senior season, he recorded 63 total tackles, 15 sacks, 18.5 tackles for loss, and forced six fumbles. He ranked first in the NSAA and NAIA in sacks per game (1.5), total sacks (15), and fumbles forced per game (.500).

At the conclusion of his senior season, branch became the first Saint to be named to the NSAA All-Conference First Team Defense and to the AFCA Coaches' All-American Defense First Team. During the season, he was also honored as a NSAA Defensive Player of the Week and NAIA National Defensive Player of the week, which was also a program first. Branch was also a two-time NSAA Scholar Athlete. He is originally from Virginia Beach, Virginia.
