
River Kings Add Diondre Borel to 2019 Roster

CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA - The Cedar Rapids River Kings have added Diondre Borel to their 2019 Indoor Football League roster.
Borel (6-0, 195, Utah State University) joins the River Kings after spending four previous seasons playing indoor football. Most recently he played with the Arizona Rattlers where he saw action in six games during their 2017 United Bowl Championship season (started in three) and hauled in six receptions for two touchdowns.
Prior to his time with the Rattlers, Borel spent the second half of the 2016 IFL season in Spokane and played in seven games (3 starts) as the Empire went on to win the Intense Conference Championship. Diondre contributed as a rusher and on special teams while hauling in seven receptions for 164 yards and three touchdowns.
Diondre was a member of the Arena Football League before making his IFL debut in 2016 as he spent the first half of the season with Los Angeles. Prior to joining the Kiss, he spent the 2015 AFL season in San Jose and was a part of the Sabercats' ArenaBowl XXVIII championship team.
Borel went undrafted out of Utah State University, signing with the Green Bay Packers as a free agent in his first NFL season in 2011. He then went on to spend time on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Tennessee Titans practice squads until 2013.
The former Aggie was a three-year starter at Utah State and as a dual-threat quarterback he threw for 6,698 yards and added 1,398 on the ground during his career. His 8,096 yards of total offense is ranked second in school history. Diondre is originally from San Jose, California and played his prep career at Freedom High School in Oakley.
