
River Cats Rout Isotopes, 15-4

Albuquerque, NM - Sacramento plated five and six runs in the second and sixth innings, respectively, while the pitching staff scattered 12 hits and stranded 12 baserunners en route to a 15-4 victory Friday night at RGCU Field.
Topes Scope: - With the loss, the Isotopes and River Cats have split the first four games of the series.
-The Isotopes allowed double-digits runs for just the second time in their last 19 contests (also: July 20 at Sugar Land). The 15 runs allowed is tied for the fourth-most runs surrendered in a game (four times) and the most since May 25 vs. Round Rock.
-In his fourth rehab game with the Isotopes, Brendan Rodgers went 2-for-4 with a solo homer and a walk. Over four games with the Isotopes, he is hitting .438 (7x16) with two doubles, a homer, one RBI and one walk.
-Daniel Montaño collected a hit and drove in the second run of the game. He also drew a walk, his 13th of July in 68 plate appearances.
-Wynton Bernard extended his hit streak to seven games while also tallying his 11th multi-hit effort in 21 games with the Isotopes. During his hitting streak, he is slashing .387/.406/.645 with two doubles, two homers, four RBI and four multi-hit contests. He also has an extra-base hit in four-straight games.
-Coco Montes collected his team-leading 32nd multi-hit effort of the year to go along with an RBI and double. He has an RBI in four of his last six contests.
-The Isotopes have allowed multiple homers in four-straight games, one off the season high set June 6-10 against Sugar Land.
-Albuquerque allowed seven extra-base hits for the night, the 12th time surrendering at least seven extra-base knocks.
The 32 total bases given up are the tied for the seventh-most this season and most since allowing 37 to Round Rock May 27.
-Albuquerque lost a game by at least 10 runs for the eighth time this year and first since June 23 at Reno, 14-3. It's also the fifth time the club has lost by double-digits to Sacramento (also: April 30, 2019, 17-7; Sept. 7, 2015, 11-0; July 27, 2015 (G1 of DH), 10-0; May 17, 2012, 16-5). The 11-run loss ties the biggest margin of defeat against the River Cats (three times).
-Albuquerque starter Jeff Criswell tossed 2.0 innings and allowed five runs on five hits, one homer and three walks. The 2.0 innings is tied for the fourth-shortest start (sixth time) by an Isotope this year. Out of the nine outings that have lasted 2.0 frames or fewer (non-rehab/spot starts), Criswell accounts for five of them.
-The Isotopes relented five runs in the second frame, the 10th time the club has allowed five tallies in an inning. Additionally, the allowed six runs in the sixth inning, the ninth time Albuquerque has surrendered six runs in a frame.
-Albuquerque surrendered its seventh grand slam of the year in the sixth frame to Jakson Retz, the first slam since Sugar Land's Cesar Valdez on July 21, also in the sixth frame. It was also the seventh all-time slam relented against Sacramento. The first one surrendered occurred 17 years ago today at Isotopes Park by Scott McClain.
-Eli Lingos has tossed at least 2.0 frames in each of his last six appearances.
-Armando Alvarez belted two homers in a game for the second time in the series (also: June 25).
-The Isotopes stranded 12 baserunners on the night the most in a contest since June 21 at Reno, also 12. It's also tied for the fifth-most left on base (five times).
On Deck: The Isotopes and River Cats meet for game five tomorrow at 6:35 pm at RGCU Field at Isotopes Park. Albuquerque's starter has yet to be named while Sacramento is scheduled to send Miguel Yajure to the hill.
