FORT MILL, S.C. - April 28, 2008 - Charlotte made a valiant effort late in their game against Norfolk, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Tides in a 10-5 loss. The game was tied at 1-1 until the top of the 6th, when the Tides scored seven runs to take an 8-1 lead and never look back.
Norfolk's Jon Leicester (1-1, 4.22) went six innings for the win. Knight's pitcher Rob Bell (1-3, 12.38) took the loss.
Knights starting pitcher Jack Egbert, in his first start of the season for the Knights and at the Triple-A level, pitched five innings and allowing one run. Egbert struck-out four and walked one.
The Knights will continue their series with the Tides tomorrow at 11:15 a.m. Knight's RHP Lance Broadway (3-1, 1.29ERA) will take on Tides RHP Radhames Liz (0-2, 5.82 ERA).
