Riptide update

March 21, 2005 - National Pro Fastpitch (NPF) - New England Riptide News Release

It's been a long winter here in New England but spring is here and spring training is right around the corner for the Riptide. Many thanks to all of you who came out last year to support the team. We all know that New England has the greatest sports fans! If you didn't make it out to Lowell last year, we hope this will be the year for you. You will be impressed with the level of play--it doesn't get any better than this--and you will discover it's more than a great ballgame, it's a fun night out with friends, family, or teammates.

Familiar Faces, New Faces

The Riptide 2005 team will be both familiar and new. Pitchers Jocelyn Forest and Leigh Ann Ellis will return to the circle, and will be ably accompanied by new Riptide addition Danielle Henderson. Henderson, a 2000 Olympian, is well-known in the area as a star of the UMass Amherst softball program. Two former NY/NJ Juggernaut players have joined the team--look for some solid offense from Kellie Wilkerson and Lisa Iancin. Keep up with our roster which will be updated frequently.

Are You a Coach or a Softball Mom or Dad Looking for a Great Fundraising Idea?

We are pleased to announce the kickoff of our new fundraising program, Riptide FUN-Raising. You sell books of 4 Riptide ticket coupons for $32, and for every book sold you earn $12 for your team. It's that easy. This is a great way to make a considerable amount of money to help cover your team's expenses, while supporting the game you love. The nice part about the ticket coupons is that they are good for any Riptide home game during the 2005 season. You don't have to commit to buying tickets for certain dates or put together groups ahead of time. Also good for you is that there is no risk. Any unsold coupon books can be returned to us when you are finished with your fundraising. If you would like a fundraising packet, please call 866-474-7843 or email

Season Tickets Are Now on Sale!

We are pleased to announce that this year's season ticket price will remain the same at $175, even though you are now getting 32 home games for the same price as last year's 30 games. Many thanks to last year's season ticket holders--we hope you will be back again this year, and we hope more of you will take advantage of the significant reduction in ticket prices offered by the purchase of a season ticket.
