Riptide to Host The Pet Staff Dog Days of Summer

CARSON, CALIFORNIA - Thursday, July 26, 2007 - The Los Angeles Riptide of Major League Lacrosse (MLL) today announced the event schedule for their fifth home game of the 2007 season against the in-state rival San Francisco Dragons, set for Saturday, July 28 at 7 p.m. at the Track & Field Complex at The Home Depot Center.
As part of Saturday night's festivities, the Riptide will celebrate The Pet Staff Dog Days of Summer presented by KOST 103.5 FM. In addition, the rock band Barefoot Planet will perform for fans and the Riptide will host a post-game party at Hennessey's Tavern in Manhattan Beach.
Saturday's game will offer lacrosse fans the first-ever chance to bring their dog to the game as the Riptide and The Pet Staff join forces to host The Pet Staff Dog Days of Summer presented by KOST 103.5 FM. The event will benefit the Best Friends Animal Society. The highlights of the evening are as follows:
A fun evening at the game with your dog, benefiting Best Friends Animal Society
A Dog Village with pet-related vendors
T-shirts and other give-aways
Two frisbee dog show performances by Disc Dogs in Southern California (D.I.S.C.)
Special promotions involving the new Disney movie Underdog, and the chance to win passes to see the movie at the El Capitan
Dog fun and games in the Dog Village
Charity raffles with exciting prizes including tickets to an upcoming Los Angeles Galaxy game and a suite at a Los Angeles Kings game
Prior to Saturday night's game, the Southern California rock band Barefoot Planet will perform for all fans in attendance. Barefoot Planet plays a wide variety of music, including Classic Rock, Blues, Surf Music and Current Rock.
Following Saturday's game, fans are invited to meet their favorite members of the Riptide at Hennessey's Tavern in Manhattan Beach (313 Manhattan Beach Blvd., 310-546-4813) during the team's post-game party. Children accompanied by a parent/guardian are welcome to attend the event.
The Riptide are also offering AM570 Party Packs for Saturday night's game. The packs include two general admission tickets, two cheeseburgers, two beers (or sodas) for just $45. Upgrades are available.
