April 15, 2018 - National Basketball League of Canada (NBL Canada)
Moncton Magic News Release
The Moncton Magic played the Riptide at Harbor Station Saturday night in a first round series fourth game. The first two in Moncton went to the Magic with the third in Saint John going to the home team. Neither team seems willing to give anything up in home territory; Saint John took game four in 81-80.
Meanwhile in Charlottetown, Halifax closed out the Island storm 120-103, meaning the winner of this 2-3 series will face the 2017 runner-up Hurricanes in the Eastern Conference Finals.
Juan Pattillo put up the Magic's best efforts on Saturday, leaving with an 11-rebound 23-point double-double, along with an assist and 3 steals. Up next on the box score were Jeremy Williams and Terry Thomas, who made 16 and 14 respectively for Moncton.
Aly Ahmed had a double-double of his own, making an impressive 15 rebounds and 12 points for Saint John. Ahmed was supported by Malcolm Miller and Mareik Isom who both took 12 shots and made 6, and with the 3-point variable made 17 each for the Riptide.
These teams will now head to Moncton for game five; round one of the 2018 playoffs will be decided Monday night, 7:00pm at the Coliseum.
