Saint John Riptide News Release

After an incredibly competitive and high energy training camp the Saint John Riptide have set their final 12 man roster for the 2018-19 season.

The roster features three players returning from the 2017-18 roster. After earning NBLC All-Rookie team honors last season Jeremaih Mordi returns to the Riptide at the shooting guard position. Mordi provides the team with a staunch defender and leads by example on and off the court. Also returning is Austin, Texas native Mareik Isom. Isom was a lethal threat from beyond the arc in 2017-18 and quickly became a fan favorite at Harbour Station. Rounding out the returning players is Canadian Point Guard Marvin Binney. Throughout training camp Binney showed leadership and is poised to take his game to the next level this season.

The 2018-19 Riptide roster features two players familiar with the Atlantic division that are new to Saint John. Canadian power forward Renaldo Dixon joins the Riptide after spending the last two seasons with the Halifax Hurricanes. Dixon is a tough defender and rebounder to go with a great touch from beyond the arc. Canadian shooting guard Kemy Osse joins the Riptide after being named to the NBLC All Canadian playoff team last season as a member of the Island Storm. Osse provides an extremely dynamic scoring punch that opposing teams must be aware of.

The roster also features a pair of players with NBA G-League experience. Daniel Dingle spent last season in Portland with the Maine Red Claws. Dingle is a versatile play-making small forward who at 6-7 can also defend multiple positions. Brent Arrington who is from Baltimore, MD also joins the Riptide at the Point Guard position after spending time in the G-League. Arrington brings high energy and an engaging personality that fans will surely appreciate.

Chris Early, a sharp shooting 6-8 power forward joins the Riptide after appearing for 2 games at the start of the 2016-17 season. Early is another versatile player capable of guarding up and down the roster. Canadian Darnell Landon, a product of the NBLC draft and Toronto, Ontario native also joins the squad. First time Pro Frank Bartley adds a highly efficient scorer to the Riptide back court. Bartley spent last season with Louisiana-Lafayette in the NCAA and averaged over 40% from beyond the arc on over 7 attempts per game last year. Canadian and Hampton, New Brunswick native Andrew Holmes rounds out the Riptide roster after playing professionally in China.

The Riptide are set to kick-off their season Sunday, November 18th at 2:00PM in Charlottetown, PEI. The home schedule kicks off on Sunday, November 25th at 2:00PM at Harbour Station in Saint John. Tickets are available now.
