The Shorebirds began to chip away by scoring one in the bottom of the fifth on a Jimmy Anderson RBI single, his second hit of the game. A run-scoring single by Ty Head in the sixth pulled Delmarva within a 7-3 margin.
In the eighth, the RidgeYaks got both of those runs back on RBI hits by Wills Maginnis and Franklin Primera, matching their largest lead at 9-3.
Delmarva's offense was unable to break through for the big inning they needed, finishing 3-for-17 with runners in scoring position and stranding 12 runners in a 9-3 loss to the RidgeYaks.
