Richmond Revolution Announce Coaching Staff

October 6, 2009 - Indoor Football League (IFL) - Richmond Revolution News Release

*RICHMOND, VA.:* SportsQuest and the Richmond Revolution announced today at a press conference that they have signed their coaching staff for their first season.

*Brent Williams - Offensive Coordinator:* Williams joins the Revolution after serving as the Head Coach of the Richmond Bandits of the AIFL for two seasons. Before taking the head football coach position he was the Asst. Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator for the Bandits. In 2003 and 2004, Williams was the Head Coach for the Division II and Division III All Star Game, as well as Offensive Coordinator for the Richmond Speed in 2003. From 2000 to 2002, Williams was the Head Varsity Football Coach for Henrico High School, earning that position after three years as the Offensive Coordinator.

*Billy Jarvis - Defensive Coordinator:* Jarvis comes to the Revolution following a successful career as an athletic director, head coach, and defensive coordinator at the High School, College and Professional level. Jarvis also spent time as an Assistant Coach and Head Coach for Division II and Division III all stars over a period of 5 years at the East Coast Bowl Game in Petersburg, VA. Coaching since 1980, Jarvis has been a head coach at 5 area High Schools over a 17 year period.

*Tim Jones - Receivers:* Tim Jones joins the Revolution while currently serving as receivers coach at Henrico High School and John Rolfe Middle School in Richmond. Jones also is currently running the East End Youth Football Association and was an Assistant coach with both the Bandits and Speed, working with receivers.

*Brian Edmonds - Running Backs:* Edmonds will be serving the Revolution as the Running Backs coach, a position he has had with both the Bandits and Speed. Edmonds played professionally for the Carolina Panthers of the NFL, the Nashville Kats of the AFL and the Speed in Richmond. He was a three year starter at fullback during his time at Virginia Tech. He was a team captain his senior year, and ran for over 1,200 yards with 18 touchdowns over his four years at Tech.

*John Trott - Defensive Secondary:* Trott will be handling a very talented secondary for the Revolution, and has spent most of his life in Richmond coaching or playing football. A former standout player and eventual Head Coach at Henrico High School, Trott has also coach professionally for the Speed and Bandits.

*Revolution Coaching Staff to Coach All Star Game*

Before the Revolution staff ever coaches a games in the Indoor Football League they will be coaching the East Coast Bowl game in Petersburg, VA. The bowl game features stars from the Division I FCS, Division II and Division III. Over 80 alumni of this game have gone on to play professionally at some level, including the NFL, CFL and the AFL. East Coast Bowl IX will be held on Saturday, November 28th in Petersburg, VA.
