
Richmond Blows past Hammers

The Alabama Hammers opened an early lead, but were outscored 73-36 in the second, third and fourth quarters to fall to the visiting Richmond Raiders 87-58 at the Von Braun Center.
The Hammers (3-3) had five touchdown passes from quarterback Garrett Sutphen and he ran for three more from short distances. On the receiving end of those scoring tosses were Mico McSwain, who had three, and Maurice Dupree, who captured two.
The Raiders (3-4) posted its second defeat of the Hammers this season. The Professional Indoor Football League's (PIFL) most potent scoring offense had 12 touchdowns in the barrage of scoring on the evening.
The Hammers will host the Trenton Freedom (2-3) this Friday night with kickoff set for 7:00 p.m. in the Propst Arena of the Von Braun Center.
