Rochester Rhinos News Release

(Rochester, NY)... Rochester Raging Rhinos defender Bill Sedgewick will present a check for $6,800 to Golisano Children's Hospital at Strong on behalf of his "Quarters for Cancer" program.

Sedgewick will make the check presentation to representatives from Golisano Children's Hospital at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9. Rhinos General Manager Chris Economides will also attend the event.

The program raised funds during the 2004 A-League soccer season with the help of Rhinos' supporters, the Rochester community and local businesses. The money will go to the hospital's Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology.

"'Quarters for Cancer' was a fund-raising program that I established for 2004 to raise money to benefit young children battling cancer," said Sedgewick.

Sedgewick just completed his seventh season with the Rhinos and has been an ardent supporter of the local community. During the 2000 season, the Wheatridge, Co., native and the Rochester community raised $6,000 in support of a local boy, Isaiah Cox. Isaiah was battling cancer, but is now healthy.

Sedgewick is a three-time recipient of the Iacovangelo Community Service Award for outstanding service to his community.
