
Rhinos Announce Preseason Schedule

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - The Rochester Rhinos (http://rhinossoccer.com/) today announced their 2017 preseason schedule, which will feature three contests against USL opposition as the club builds toward the new season. Both the Pittsburgh Riverhounds and Toronto FC II will visit Capelli Sport Stadium, while the team will also visit Ottawa Fury FC as part of its preparations.
"We're excited to get the 2017 season underway," said Rhinos Head Coach Bob Lilley. "The offseason has seen us work hard to recruit a strong squad for the new season, and we look forward to building this team over the next couple of weeks."
The Rhinos 2017 preseason kicks off on Friday, Feb. 24 when Canisius College visits Capelli Sport Stadium for a 6 p.m. ET kickoff. The club will also welcome Syracuse University to its home venue on Saturday, March 4 at 2 p.m. ET.
Rochester will then face three USL opponents in the span of a week, visiting league newcomer Ottawa Fury FC on Friday, March 10 at the University of Ottawa at 11 a.m. ET. The Rhinos return home to host longtime rival the Pittsburgh Riverhounds on Monday, March 13 at 3 p.m. ET, and then conclude the preseason against Toronto FC II on Friday, March 17 at 3 p.m. ET.
All of the Rhinos' home preseason contests at Capelli Sport Stadium will be open and free to the public. The club's preseason will open with entry medicals on Saturday, Feb. 18^th, and the team will take part in its first preseason training on Monday, Feb. 20th.
The Rhinos will kick off the 2017 USL regular season on Saturday, April 1 against Bethlehem Steel FC at Goodman Stadium. The club's home opener is on Saturday, April 22 when the defending USL Cup champion New York Red Bulls II visit Capelli Sport Stadium. Kickoff is set for 6:05 p.m. ET.
