RGV's Andy Franck Named Sher-Wood/Tps Goaltender Of The Month

(Tempe, Arizona) - The Central Hockey League announced today that Andy Franck of the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees has been named the Sher-Wood/TPS Central Hockey League Goaltender of the Month for the month of March/2010. Franck will receive a portable DVD player, courtesy of Sher-Wood/TPS, to recognize his accomplishment.

Franck responded in great fashion to his team's last month push for the post-season by posting points in six of seven games going 5-1-1. He allowed 14 goals on 240 shots finishing with a.942 save percentage. On March 19, in a must-win situation versus Wichita, the Lakewood, Ohio made 27 saves earning his only shutout of the season. On the season, Franck finished 18-18-7 with a 3.26 goals against average and a.909 save percentage. The 6-0, 195-pound goalie led the league with 2722:30 minutes played and 1,472 saves. He also ranked among the league leaders with five shootout wins (third in the league).

Other players receiving consideration for the monthly award for February include Allen's Chris Whitley, Bossier-Shreveport's John DeCaro, Colorado's Andrew Penner, Laredo's Pier-Olivier Pelletier, Mississippi's Kyle McNulty, Odessa's Joel Martin, Rapid City's Danny Battochio and Tulsa's Marco Emond.
