REX Baseball is excited to announce the hiring of Thomas Nelson as the new Field Manager for the 2020 season. Nelson was a pitcher in the Frontier League, the American Association, and the Pecos League. He was a Field Manager in the Pecos league for four seasons. His last three seasons in the Pecos league he led the Trinidad Triggers to a record of 102-68 and two playoff berths. He is currently an Assistant Coach at Wabash Valley College. Nelson said this about joining REX Baseball, "I am proud to join REX Baseball for my first head coaching job in collegiate baseball. While I have enjoyed my four years managing in professional baseball, I look forward to getting the opportunity to work in player progression again. There are little things in life money can't buy you, one is the satisfaction of making a long term impact on a young adult's life as he chases his dream." REX Baseball General Manager Bruce Rosselli said of the new coaching hire, "We are excited for the hiring of another quality coach and look forward to Coach Nelson's first season with REX Baseball."
