
Revs train at Gillette Stadium this week

Foxborough, Mass. - The first-place New England Revolution (16-6-7, 55 pts.) will train from Wednesday though Friday of this week on the Upper Practice Field at Gillette Stadium. All three training session begin at 10:00 a.m. Media panning to cover practice at Gillette Stadium are required to notify the Revolution Communications Department the day prior to the sessions they plan to attend to guarantee admittance.
At 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 1 at Gillette Stadium (TV - FSN; Radio- WEEI 850 AM ), the Revs host Western Conference leaders the San Jose Earthquakes (16-4-9, 57 pts.) in a battle between the two first-place teams in MLS. The game can also be heard streaming live on www.revolutionsoccer.net. The Revs and Earthquakes are the two top teams in the race for the Supporters Shield, the trophy awarded for the team with the best regular season record in MLS.
This past Saturday night, the Revolution clinched a berth in the 2005 MLS Cup playoffs with a 1-0 victory over the MetroStars (10-8-10, 40 pts.). This is the fourth consecutive season that the Revs have made the postseason. With the victory this past Saturday, the Revolution can now finish no lower than third place in the final Eastern Conference standings. The Revolution have three regular season games remaining, including Saturday night's match with San Jose, and are aiming to clinch first place in the East and home field advantage in the conference playoffs.
Media wishing to attend home games must contact Revolution Communications NO LATER THAN 5:00 p.m. on the Thursday before the game. Media members who fail to provide advanced notice risk having their credential requests denied.
