New Jersey Revolution News Release

Scott Veith enters his first season at the reins of the Revs. Veith brings a wealth of coaching and playing experience, but is most excited about being an integral part of professional football in Morris County.

"I grew up in Morris County." Veith said. "I remember early mornings and late nights at Mennen Arena when my brothers and I were growing up and playing hockey. To get the opportunity to coach professional indoor football at Mennen...It's something i'm sincerely looking forward to."

Veith coached at Fairleigh Dickinson University - College at Florham where he worked with the offensive line and coordinated the team's recruiting efforts. Before FDU, he served as a jack-of-all-trades coach at Manville high school, as he was the team's Offensive Coordinator, Special Teams Coach and Strength Coach, while also working with the linemen on both sides of the ball.

When he's not coaching football, Veith serves at the Fitness & Sports Director at the Morris Center YMCA in Cedar Knolls. "It's a great place to call home," Veith said of the Y. "And it's just around the corner from the arena, so I'm excited about the Y community and the Revolution community coming together."

Coach Veith starred scholastically in both football and track & field at Jefferson in the mid 90's. He played collegiately at Wilkes University. Veith and his wife, Christine, live in Franklin with the son Jack.

Shaun Stokes - Offensive Coordinator

A few names come to mind when you're thinking of the greatest high school athletes in Morris County history. Shaun Stokes has to be near the top of the list. Shaun is one of the most successful high school baseball players in the history of the state of New Jersey, and was a dominant scorer on the hardwood as well.

A graduate of Jefferson Township High School, Stokes was a 7th round draft pick by the St. Louis Cardinals in 2000. After retiring due to nagging arm injuries, Stokes turned his efforts to helping young athletes in Morris County.

Stokes has served at the head coach of Jefferson Twp. Youth Football 8th grade team for three seasons and is comming off an undefeated 9-0 season.

"My talents may have been in baseball and basketball, but my passion has always been football." Stokes said. "I grew up with football. My dad played in college, my brother is playing in college right now. It's in my blood and I'm excited to be a part of the Revolution."

Roland Weeden - Defensive Coordinator

Coach Weeden comes to the Revs with a varied background in football including coaching experience at the junior, high school, and college levels. Weeden currently serves at the Running Backs coach at Fairleigh Dickinson University - College at Florhama and has been with the Devils for three seasons.

Weeden played collegiately at both Ferrum and Mansfield before graduating from Wilmington college in 1982. Weeden has coached just about every position on the field and will be overseeing the defense for the Revolution.

Jim Carpentier, C.S.C.S. - Massage Therapist/Conditioning Consultant/Strength

Through a partnership with the Morris Center YMCA, Jim Carpentier joins the Revolution and will work as the team's Massage Therapist and will also assist the Revs in Strength and Conditioning. Carpentier is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist with the American Council on Sports Medecine and a New Jersey State Licensed Massage Therapist.

A Rutgers graduate, Carpentier has been involved in professional and collegiate athletics for nearly three decades. His recent football affiliations include Montclair State University, Newark Academy and Hackettstown High School.
