Revolution Slam Stealth 96-30 in Opener

Nine different players scored and five different players forced turnovers in a 96-30 Texas Revolution victory Friday night in front of an estimated 4,000 at a packed Allen Event Center.
The Revs scored the first seven touchdowns of the game, taking a 49-0 advantage. A few players tussled for the glory once the game was out of reach for the visiting Stealth.
Guy Bellaver, the flag coordinator for the Dallas Cowboys, suited up for the Revolution for multiple charities and scored a touchdown on a fourth-and-goal in the fourth quarter after getting stuffed inside the five the previous two plays. That score started a 20-point fourth frame and extended the Revs lead to 83-22. He was awarded Player of the Game for his efforts. He also made a key tackle on special teams.
With 9:01 to go in the second quarter, Michael Dyer made his mark. The former BCS National Championship Offensive Player of the Game with Cam Newton's Auburn Tigers, Dyer scored back-to-back touchdowns from 26 and four yards out, both passes from Robert Kent Jr., who threw for eight touchdowns and no interceptions in the first half.
Texas got plenty of production out of its defense and special teams. Neil Wilcox recorded two sacks - one on a crucial early-game fourth down. The big defensive lineman also leaped up to pick off an errant pass. Jeremy Coleman recovered a teammates fumble and nearly took it for a score and also stole an offensive possession away from the Stealth with a pick.
Chad Ruffin recovered two fumbles, Avel McLamb picked off one pass. Frankie Solomon took a pass out of the air and successfully faked an extra point try, turning the attempt into two points. The Revs even successfully managed a one-point rogue in their first outing of 2017.
Clinton Solomon, Darius Fudge, Johnathan Haggarty, Chris Franklin, Jeff Willis, Jordan Brown (twice), Takuto Hara and Kevin Tezeno (twice) also reached the end zone. Franklin's catch was the top play of the night, securing a touchdown catch between his feet while laying on the ground amongst heavy traffic near the sideboards at the goalline.
The team debuted new turf, a new player run-through, a new halftime segment - "Shirtless Dave presents Intern Olympics", new motion graphics, new impactful players, featured Glen Oaks and Walker Elementary school students signing the National Anthem and showcased the famous Whiplash, a monkey who rides on the back of a sheepdog to herd sheep.
In total, Texas had five players score Friday not on the roster in 2016. In the first 20 minutes, nine different players either had scored or forced a turnover.
