
Revolution Hang on for 6-5 Win over Patriots

Bridgewater, NJ- The York Revolution defeated the Somerset Patriots 6-5 at TD Bank Ballpark on Tuesday evening.
York struck first in the top half of the second on a solo home run by Cody Johnson (4) for the 1-0 lead.
Home runs by Andy Marte (7), Jeff Fiorentino (3), and Salvador Paniagua (7) highlighted a five run third inning for the Revolution and extended their lead to 6-0.
The Patriots powered their way to five runs in the bottom of the fifth inning with three home runs of their own. Jake Fox (16) hit a three-run shot followed by a solo homer by Corey Smith (9). Later in the inning Cory Aldridge hit his first home run for the team to make the score 6-5.
York reliever Michael Wuertz (2-1) picked up the win, striking out three in 1.2 innings pitched. Patriots starter Brad Thompson (4-2) suffered the loss, allowing six runs on nine hits in seven innings pitched. Juan Rincon earned his tenth save of the season.
The 2013 Somerset Patriots season presented by Ford will continue at home on Wednesday evening when the Patriots take on the York Revolution at 7:05 pm.
