New England Revolution News Release

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - Locked in a four-way tie for the eighth and final spot in the 2009 MLS Cup Playoffs with just one game remaining in the regular season, the New England Revolution will attempt to secure its eighth straight postseason berth when the club visits the league-leading Columbus Crew on Sunday, Oct. 25, at Crew Stadium. The game will be televised nationally on ESPN2 and ESPN Deportes beginning at 6 p.m., while the match will also be available in high definition on ESPN2 HD. Local radio listeners can catch the action in English on WRKO 680 AM, while ESPN Deportes Radio will carry the game nationally in Spanish.

The Revolution (10-10-9, 39 pts.) will spend Saturday night scoreboard watching, as almost every other match around the league directly affects New England's chances of making the postseason. Essentially, the Revs will be hoping Toronto FC (10-10-9, 39 pts.), D.C. United (9-8-12, 39 pts.), FC Dallas (11-12-6, 39 pts.) and Real Salt Lake (10-12-7, 37 pts.) all fail to win on Saturday, leaving them with a chance to clinch a spot on Sunday in the last regular-season game on the 2009 schedule.

Columbus (13-6-10, 49 pts.), meanwhile, has already secured the top seed in the Eastern Conference and could have the Supporters' Shield wrapped up before the weekend if Chivas USA fails to defeat Chicago on Thursday night.

This will be the second meeting between the Revs and Crew in the span of two weeks, as Columbus earned a 1-0 win over New England on Oct. 10 at Gillette Stadium.
