Allen Wranglers News Release
ALLEN, TX- Revenge is sweet and the Allen Wranglers now know all about that.
The team handed the Nebraska Danger a 49-23 loss on Saturday night at Allen Event Center. While the first half was filled with action, the third and fourth quarters were the Bobby Chase show. Chase ended the night with 68 yards and two trips over the wall.
"I missed three catches and two that could have been touchdowns," Chase said. "Going over the wall was redemption for me."
Chase said he was glad his teammates supported him when Coach MacKeown tried to take him out of the game.
"They know I can play ball," he said. "I'm glad they gave me a second chance."
The Wranglers depth in their offensive game this week; Kewan Dewberry, Dedrick Poole, Jason Jones and Mike Ward all knocked in six points for the Wranglers. Defensively the Wranglers were able to shut out the Danger offense in the third quarter and allowed only one scoring drive in the fourth.
The Wranglers travel to Odessa next week to take on the West Texas Roughnecks in a battle for the division title; the teams are currently tied for first in the Lonestar Division. This win over the Danger sees the Wranglers at 7-3 on the season. The team will return on home on Saturday, May 21st to take on the Amarillo Venom. Kickoff for that game is set for 7:05 p.m.
