Republic FC's Flag Unveiled in the USL Championship's Culture Collection
April 13, 2021 - United Soccer League Championship (USL)
Sacramento Republic FC News Release
On Tuesday, the USL Championship continued its launch of the 2021 Culture Collection and Republic FC's uniquely Sacramento-themed flag was revealed.
The Indomitable Club's flag - designed by USL Headquarters designers after a number of clubs provided "fan consultants" to the designers so they could better understand the community and culture of each unique city - showcases the iconic Tower Bridge and the recognizable California brown bear.
The flag is already an early frontrunner to win the competition, after fans voted it as a favorite for early release from the USL Championship's Culture Collection.
On Monday, the league launched the #FlagsFlyForever campaign as it began the unveilings that carried over into today as a total of 19 USL clubs are participating in the Culture Collection. Republic FC was placed in Group D with Rio Grande Valley FC, Tampa Bay and Tulsa.
Supporters of the boys in Old Glory Red will have the ability to vote on their favorite flag for a chance to win a free version. The fan-voted #FlagsFlyForever Culture Collection the Indomitable Club claimed first in was available for fans to vote on Twitter, but the winner was revealed exclusively on the USL App.
Votes will be counted for 2x when voting through the USL App and voting will close for the bracket on April 19. Five randomly selected voters will win a free flag of their club of choice. Download the USL App on the Apple App Store or Google Play Store to vote for the Indomitable Club's flag.
The full bracket is scheduled to go live at 2 p.m. PT on Tuesday and will run until Wednesday, April 14 at 8 a.m. PT. Voting for the Round of 16 will begin on Wednesday, April 14 at 8:30 a.m. PT and run until 8 a.m. PT the following day followed by the quarterfinal round.
The winning design will be revealed on Tuesday, April 20.
