Erie BayHawks News Release
Erie, Pennsylvania, Sunday, April 10, 2011 - The Reno Bighorns used a big fourth quarter to erase a 12-point Erie lead and win game one of the best-of-three opening round series of the NBA Development League playoffs, 106-101.
Reno jumped out to an early lead and held a four point margin at the end of the first before Erie took control in the second to take a five point lead in to halftime.
Erie continued its steady play in the third and grew its lead over the visitors to ten, behind Ivan Johnson's ten points in the quarter. But the fourth quarter belonged to Marcus Landry and the Bighorns as they outscored Erie 35-20 in the game's final twelve minutes, including 12 from Landry, to pull out the comeback win and take game one.
Reno had five players in double-figures with Landry leading the way with 25. Anthony Richardson and Andre Emmett each had 20, Bobby Simmons notched 17 and Mo Charlo added 12.
For Erie, Johnson had the game's lone double-double finishing with 30 points and 11 rebounds. Erik Daniels scored 21, Tasmin Mitchell dropped in 18 and Blake Ahearn notched 17.
The series heads to Reno for game two on Tuesday night at 10 pm ET, and game three, if necessary, will be played in Reno at the same time on Thursday.
