Reno Bighorns Return to Action this Weekend with Holiday Promotions

RENO, NEV., December 5, 2012 - The Reno Bighorns return to action this weekend, with three games against the Bakersfield Jam on Friday, Saturday and Monday. All games start at 7 p.m.

On Friday night, the Bighorns will offer $2 beers through halftime. Fans can also get $2 off tickets when they use the code "KTVN" on ticketmaster.com/renobighorns.

Saturday night is "Happy Holidays with the Bighorns." The first 1500 fans to the game will receive a Bighorns Holiday Ornament. The team will also be holding a toy drive. The evening will also include a special appearance from Santa Claus who will be taking pictures with fans throughout the game.

Monday is the Bighorns' Season of Giving Night. St. Paul's Community Food Pantry will be collecting canned food donations and Catholic Charities of Northern Nevada will be collecting toiletry items, such as sample-size toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo, and soap. They are also in need of diapers. Anyone who brings an item to donate will receive a free ticket to Monday night's game.

"This weekend our fans will not only be able to experience exciting professional basketball, but at the same time they can help make a difference in our community," said Reno Bighorns owner, Herb Santos, Jr. "There are a lot of people in our community who need our help. By bringing a donation of food or toiletries, especially on Monday for our Season of Giving Night, we can help a family this holiday season. In the words of the legendary UCLA coach, John Wooden, 'You can't live a perfect day without doing something for someone who will never be able to repay you.' Help us have a perfect weekend."
