Reno Aces News Release

Reno Aces (67-59) at Memphis Redbirds (60-65) Pitching Matchup: RHP Matt Koch (1-2, 2.95) vs. RHP Deck McGuire (6-10, 5.86) First Pitch: 5:05 PM PT Radio: KPLY 630 AM TV: MiLB TV

From the Notes

By the Numbers - 16-for-16: Ildemaro Vargas' theft of second base in the first inning last night made him a perfect 16-for-16 in stolen base attempts between Mobile and Reno. Among MiLB players with double-digit swipes, he leads the pack of perfection.

RBI Record Set Again: For a third consecutive season, an Aces player beat the franchise's single-season RBI record. In 2014, Mike Jacobs totaled 97 RBI to break Cody Ransom's record of 92 set in 2011. Then in 2015, Peter O'Brien broke Jacobs' mark with 107 RBI, before Kyle Jensen rewrote the record books again by notching his 108th RBI of the season last night on an infield single. The former Saint Mary's (Calif.) star is tied with Double-A Reading's Dylan Cozens for the most RBI in professional baseball, and his 29 multi-RBI games are the most by an Aces player since Mike Jacobs had 29 during the 2014 campaign.

Run at Your Own Risk: Memphis' Harrison Bader attempted a stolen base last night, but Aces catcher Ronnie Freeman gunned him down at second. Freeman is now 4-for-4 in throwing out would-be base stealers for Reno in just three starts.

What's the word around Reno? Aces Communications (@RenoAces_PR) As he drives in the @Aces' first run of the game, @TheKJensen42 now holds the team's single-season RBI record with 108! Final line for @anthony_banda3: 6.0 IP, 4 H, 2 ER, 4 BB, 5 K. 101 pitches/59 strikes. 3rd straight quality start, 7th in his last 8 outings.
