Renegades Unveil Official 2004 Grey Cup Logo

OTTAWA – Grey Cup Fever is spreading in Ottawa as the Renegades today unveiled the official 2004 Grey Cup logo, announced details of the event project overview, and introduced the Steering Committee for the 2004 Grey Cup.

The 92nd Grey Cup will be held Sunday, November 21, 2004 at Frank Clair Stadium, 442 days from today. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m., Eastern Standard Time.

The new logo, unveiled today by Brent Scrimshaw, Vice-President, Marketing and Partnerships, Canadian Football League, is featured on centre field at Frank Clair Stadium.

Renegades President Brad Watters outlined several key elements of the 2004 Grey Cup Project Plan during the press conference:

The economic impact of the 2004 Grey Cup will result in over $43-million in industry output, primarily in the Ottawa region.

Seating capacity will be 50,122, including a 28,000-seat upgrade to Frank Clair Stadium. The capacity may be increased to 54,899 if demanded. Ticket prices for the 2004 Grey Cup range from $149-$239.

Ottawa football fans will have first chance at buying Grey Cup 2004 tickets. Season-ticket holders and purchasers of 2004-season Flex Packs have a full month (until September 30) to purchase their Grey Cup 2004 seats before they are made available for sale to the Canadian public. Event planning will be done by six committees: Steering Committee; Organizing Committee (chaired by Kate Brohman, Grey Cup Project Director, and Pat Paulin, Renegades Chief Financial Officer); Sales and Marketing Committee (chaired by Brad Watters); Event Committee (chaired by Monique Trotter, Grey Cup Coordinator); Operations Committee (chair TBA); Volunteer Committee (chair TBA).
