Renegades Announce the Signing of Long Time NFL Assistant Steve Kazor as Offensive Line Coach

The Ottawa Renegades Football Club announced today the signing and addition to the coaching staff of Steve Kazor. Coach Kazor brings nearly twenty years of professional coaching experience from the National Football League in addition to a number of years coaching college football in the United States as well as experience within the Canadian Football League.

Coach Steve Kazor will be in charge of coaching the Offensive Line element of the team and will also serve as an assistant with the Special teams group.

"We are very excited about this coaching hire and about having Steve Kazor join our program, he brings some outstanding professional experience to our new staff and will provide an abundance of energy in revitalizing this key element of our offensive program," stated

Kazor served eleven seasons with the National Football League Chicago Bears most notably during the halcyon period of the club which included the Bears 1985 Super Bowl Championship Team and its incredible 17-1 record, three National Conference Title games and two NFL Pro Bowls. The Bears record during this period consisted 112 wins. Kazor's NFL resume also consists of four years with the Detroit Lions where he helped lead the Lions rushing attack, powered by Barry Sanders. The NFL rushing jaggernaut completely terrorized opposing defenses during this period, leading the NFL Offensive totals in 1995. The Lions appeared in the NFL play offs both in 1994 and 1995. Coach Kazor spent two seasons working under Dallas Cowboy legend Head Coach Tom Landry during their Championship period. Rounding out his deep coaching resume Steve Kazor's college experience includes spending three years with the University of Texas Longhorns, as well as University of Texas El Paso, McPherson University, Wayne State University and DuPage College. Steve's Canadian Football League experience consists of a stint with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in 1998 as well as a CFL guest coaching tour with Renegades Head Coach John Jenkins in Toronto with the Argonauts in 2001.
