Reggie Mathis Named Night Train Head Coach

The La Crosse Night Train of the National Indoor Football League announced the appointment of Reggie Mathis as Head Coach at a press conference today at the La Crosse Center. Mathis replaces Mike Brown who was relieved of his duties on Monday.

Mathis was already serving as an assistant defensive coach this season under Brown and Defensive Coordinator Mitch Madland. Madland was also relieved of his duties as defensive coordinator, but accepted a position as assistant defensive coach and remain with the team.

Coach Mathis has prior coaching experience in both the Indoor Football League and Arena Football League 2. Mathis was the head coach of the Flint Flames (IFL) in 2000 and was an assistant head coach with the Quad City Steamwheelers (AF2) in 2002.

Darryl Henry will assume duties as offensive coordinator and Bob Canny is expected to join the staff as defensive coordinator. Both coaches will join the team at practice tonight at the Onalaska Omni Center.

La Crosse (2-2, 2-2) will take on the Lincoln Capitols (0-2, 1-3) Friday night at 7:00 p.m. at the La Crosse Center.
