Reggie Gray and Jason Simpson Named to AFL All-Ironman Team

CHICAGO (August 8, 2011) - The Arena Football League announced Monday that Rush WR/KR Reggie Gray and DB/KR Jason Simpson have been named to the league's All-Ironman team for their performance in the 2011 season.

"I cannot think of two more deserving players to receive this honor," said Rush head coach Bob McMillen. "This is a testament to their tremendous hard work and dedication that we witnessed throughout this season."

Gray finished his 2011 campaign with 1,969 all-purpose yards. He totaled 49 receiving touchdowns as well as four kick-return touchdowns. He recorded two consecutive kick returns for touchdowns in Week 16 against the Iowa Barnstormers which earned him Ironman of the Week honors. He also received the weekly honor in Week 12.

"This is a remarkable accomplishment," said WR Reggie Gray. "I am truly blessed to have had the opportunity to play for the Rush organization this year."

Simpson was a dominant force on the Rush defense throughout the entire 2011 season recording 107.5 tackles, eight interceptions and two defensive touchdowns. He also surpassed 1,000 kick-return yards and had one return for a touchdown. Simpson added to his touchdown tally against the Arizona Rattlers in the National Conference Championship game when he recorded a 56-yard kickoff return for a touchdown to begin the game.

The All-Ironman team features the most versatile players in the league. Players often play on both offense and defense as well as make significant contributions on special teams. The 2011 All-Ironman team will be anchored by JLS Ironman of the Year PJ Berry from the New Orleans VooDoo. Other players making the team include CJ Johnson-Georgia Force, Marlon Moye-Moore-Orlando Predators and Jeff Hughley-Jacksonville Sharks.
