OTTAWA - The Ottawa REDBLACKS of the Canadian Football League have signed national placekicker Johnny Mark to a two-year contract with an option for a third season.
The native of Peterborough, ON comes to Ottawa after an exceptional collegiate career with the University of Calgary Dinosaurs.
Among Mark's accomplishments:
Recorded 114 points during the 2012 season, which ranks 9th highest in Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) football history
Had 391 career CIS points, fifth overall in CIS history
Booted six field goals in a game September 29, 2012 against Saskatchewan
Kicked 22 field goals in 2012, only four shy of the all-time CIS mark for most field goals in a single season.
The Saskatchewan Roughriders chose Mark in the third round (20th overall) of the 2014 CFL Draft. The REDBLACKS acquired his rights from the Roughriders earlier this year for a conditional pick in the 2016 CFL Draft.
