Rochester will play in Charlotte tonight and Monday before completing the trip with a four-game series in Gwinnett Tuesday-Friday. Rochester will return to Frontier Field on Saturday, August 1.

DIVISION RIVALS-When the Red Wings return home from their eight-game road trip to Charlotte and Gwinnett next Friday they will finish the season playing 32 of their final 40 games vs. North division rivals. The only exceptions will be a four-game series vs. Louisville August 6-9 and a four-game series vs. Norfolk August 22-25 both at Frontier Field.

*WHAT'S NEWS*

LET THE GOOD TIMES ROLL-The Red Wings enter tonight's game just seven wins away from 500 regular season wins as a Minnesota Twins affiliate. Rochester has a 493-467 (.514) regular season record during the Twins era. Prior to the change in affiliation in 2003 the Red Wings had a 394-468 (.457) regular season record from 1997-2002 as an affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles. Rochester currently has five consecutive winning seasons which is the first time since 1966-1976 when Rochester had a franchise best 11 consecutive winning seasons.

MOVES, MOVES AND MORE MOVES-With today's promotion of LHP Jose Lugo to Rochester, the Red Wings have endured 65 transactions and have had 40 different players so far this season. Last season Rochester endured 78 transactions and had 49 different players wear the Red Wings uniform.

LUGO PROMOTED TO WINGS-LHP Jose Lugo was promoted to Rochester from Double- A New Britain today. Lugo is 4-2 with three saves and a 4.19 ERA in 50 games for the Rock Cats. Lugo currently leads the Eastern League in appearances with 50 (New Britain RHP Anthony Slama is 2nd with 43 appearances).

NOT MEETING YOUR QUOTA-This season the Red Wings have posted a losing record in April (7-10 record) and June (13-16 record). With a losing month of the July (July 10-11 record so far) Rochester would have three losing months in a season for the first time since 2004 (April, July, and August). It would only be the fourth time during the Twins era (2003-present) that Rochester has had back-to-back losing months (34 months of baseball played since 2003).

CHICKS DIG THE LONG BALL-The Red Wings have hit at least one home run in nine straight games (12 home runs during nine-game stretch). Rochester has hit a home run in 11 of their last 12 games (16 total home runs in those 12 games). Rochester has hit 74 home runs which is 9th in the International League (Durham leads IL with 102 home runs).

DOWN THE STRETCH THEY COME-The Red Wings have 46 games remaining in the regular season (25 road games and 21 at Frontier Field). Of the 46 games remaining 25 of them are against teams with a losing record (Red Wings have a 17-14 record vs. these teams this season). Rochester will look to make their move in August when they play 19 games at Frontier Field.

CLOSE BUT YET SO FAR-Rochester has played a bunch of close games this season. Rochester has lost seven of their last 12 one-run games and eight of their last nine two-run games. Of the 98 games played so far this season 46 (47%) of them have been decided by 1 or 2 runs. Rochester has a 13-17 record in one-run games and a 7-9 record in two-run games.
