The Clippers will send RHP Fausto Carmona to the mound today, squaring off against RHP Charlie Zink of Pawtucket. The Clippers are 32-39 against right-handers this season. Zink is 2-1 with a 5.87ERA in three career starts against the Clippers (15.1IP, 16H, 11R, 10ER, 6BB, 12K). He was tagged with the loss the last time against Columbus, on 5/10 at Huntington Park (2.1IP, 3H, 4R, 4ER, 5BB, 2K).
Power Restored
Wes Hodges hit the 82nd home run for the Clippers this season with his 2-run blast last night. Last season the Clippers had a total of 83HR, ranking them 13th in the International League
Brown Having a Good Month, Too
Jordan Brown has also hit .397 (23x58) in July, raising his average to .336, 2nd in the I.L. Brown has collected seven hits in his last two games to climb into a tie with Barbaro Canizares for most hits in the league (110).
