
Red Wings Edge Bulls in 11 Innings

Durham, NC- Justin Morneau homered with two outs in the top of the 11th inning to give the Rochester Red Wings a 4-3 victory on Wednesday night at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park.
Morneau connected off of RHP Lee Gardner (0-4) for his fourth home run in seven Triple-A games to break a 3-3 tie. Jeff Deardorff went 2-for-5 with a double and his second home run. David Lamb added two RBI for the Red Wings and Luis Rodriguez went 2-for-5 with two doubles.
RHP Juan Padilla (1-0) picked up the win with three scoreless innings of relief. He allowed one hit and struck out three. RHP Todd Erdos pitched a scoreless 11th inning to claim his third save.
Jared Sandberg went 2-for-5 with an RBI triple for the Bulls, who fell to 3-4 on the homestand. Chad Mottola went 2-for-5 with an RBI double and Mark Quinn had a triple and a run scored in his Bulls' debut.
Starting RHP Jason Standridge allowed three runs (earned) and six hits over four and 1/3 innings. He struck out four and walked three.
