Red Sox Pitcher Joel Pineiro To Rehab In Lowell

LOWELL, MA - The Lowell Spinners, Class A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox, announced today that Red Sox pitcher Joel Pineiro is scheduled to make a rehab appearance in Lowell on Wednesday.
The Spinners will face the Batavia Muckdogs for a 7:05 p.m. start on Wednesday evening, their first game back after a six-game road trip.
Pineiro, on the disabled list since June 30 with an ankle injury, has pitched 30.2 innings with the Red Sox this year since signing with Boston as a free-agent before the season.
Pineiro will be the 10th Red Sox to make a rehab appearance with the Spinners and the first since Keith Foulke and Wily Mo Pena made the trip last season.
The Spinners remind fans that although the game is technically sold out, there are always tickets available, whether it's groups downsizing, player tickets becoming available one hour before game-time, or $3.50 standing room tickets. Our ushers make every effort to seat standing room customers.
