
Red Bulls Fall to NYCFC, 5-2

The New York Red Bulls (8-9-5, 29 pts) fell short at New York City FC (11-8-3, 36 pts), 5-2 on Sunday night at Yankee Stadium.
The Red Bulls' five-match overall unbeaten streak and three-match road unbeaten streak was snapped Sunday night.
NYCFC opened the scoring in the 12th minute as Maxi Moralez looped his pass into the box for Valetin Castellanos to head in his third of the season.
The Red Bulls responded with back-to-back goals from Brian White and Cristian Casseres Jr in the 18th and 38th minute. White tallied the equalizer from outside of the 18-yard box and Casseres Jr. scored the go-ahead goal from just inside the 18-yard box with help from a deflection of a NYCFC defender.
NYCFC evened the match to end the half and found the go-ahead goal early on in the second half. Gary Mackay-Steven tallied his first of the season to even the match and Alexander Ring recorded a golazo in the 51st to give the home team the advantage.
NYCFC added two more from Castellanos to conclude the match at 5-2.
White recorded his fourth goal and first assist of the season. He has 14 MLS regular-season goals to his name.
The Flemington, New Jersey, native has tallied a goal in three of the last four matches.
Casseres Jr recorded his second career multi-point match with a goal and an assist in the match. The Venezuelan midfielder has three assists in the last six MLS matches.
New York concludes the regular-season slate with a home match against Toronto FC on Sunday, November 8. Sunday's match at Red Bull Arena will kickoff at 3:30 p.m. and have coverage on MSG and New York Red Bulls Radio in English and Spanish.
