Pensacola Barracudas News Release

PENSACOLA, Fla. – Both a team and an individual record fell Saturday when the Pensacola Barracudas were outscored 80-65 at Macon.

Robert Stromas set a new team record for career receptions with 89, four more than Rodney Woodham's previous mark. His three touchdown catches last week now gives him 23 for his three-year career, tying Woodham for first place all-time.

Stromas is just three yards shy of the team record for career receiving yards. Woodham's record stands at 1,074.

The total points from the Macon game (145) is also a record for most points in a game. It is the third highest-scoring game in af2 history. In 2000, Birmingham and Tallahassee combined for 160 points and last year Quad City and Wichita put 146 points on the scoreboard. Pensacola's previous high was 132 (Pensacola 73, Tulsa 59) in 2000.

Unfortunately, Pensacola gave up 80 points to Macon, the most ever surrendered by the Barracudas. Quad City scored 73 against Pensacola in 2000.

The Barracudas are back in action Saturday at the Pensacola Civic Center. Pensacola (2-4, 1-2 in the National Conference South) will battle division rival Tennessee Valley. The Vipers are 6-0 on the year, 2-0 in the division, and led by former Tate High kicker Todd Latourette.

It is "Cable Bill Night" and fans who bring their Cox Communications or MediaCom cable bill to the Civic Center Box Office will get a $9 ticket for just $5.

For ticket information, call the Barracudas' office at 432-7825.
