Tupelo FireAnts News Release
TUPELO, MS--The Tupelo FireAnts (6-2) head into one of their most important games in team history this Friday at the BancorpSouth Center as they take on the Houma Bayou Bucks (7-2). The winner of Friday's contest will be in sole possession of first place in the Atlantic South division. And, as the playoff picture nears...being on top of the division is where any team wants to be at this point in the season.
But, with Friday's game looming, there is also significance to it. A Tupelo victory would tie FireAnts Head Coach Bobby Hall for the record for all-time wins by a head coach in team history, with seven.
The current record is held by former Head Coach Steve Fickert, who guided the 2001 FireAnts to a 7-6 record in the team's inaugural season in the NIFL.
Don't miss all the excitement of FireAnts Football this Friday night at the BancorpSouth Center as Coach Hall looks to tie the FireAnts coaching record. Kickoff is set for 7:05pm. Individual tickets are on sale now through the BancorpSouth Center Box Office by calling 841-6528. For group discount information or more information about your Tupelo FireAnts, please call 620-2483.
