January 21, 2016 - North American Hockey League (NAHL)
Philadelphia Rebels News Release

The Rebels will be honoring Philadelphia Flyers Hall of Fame defenseman Jimmy Watson on Sunday, March 6 when the team plays the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights.

Jimmy played his entire National Hockey League career for the Flyers, which spanned 613 games over 10 seasons from 1973 until 1982. He was drafted by the Flyers in the third round (39th overall) of the 1972 NHL Amateur Draft, joining his brother Joe. Watson appeared in four games that season while spending the rest of his time with the Flyers' American Hockey League affiliate in Richmond, Virginia, and he then made the big club's roster the following season.

Watson went on to play on both Flyers Stanley Cup championship teams in 1974 and 1975, and he was a five-time NHL All-Star. He finished his career with 38 goals and 148 assists for 186 career points and a plus-295 rating, including a plus-65 season in 1975-76 and a plus-53 season in 1979-80. The career plus-minus total is the fifth-best in Flyers history. The 186 points currently rank 10th among defensemen in Flyers history, while the 613 games played currently rank him 15th overall in team history and fifth among defensemen.

Watson will be inducted into the Flyers Hall of Fame on Monday, February 29. Nowadays Jimmy can be seen at IceWorks. He currently is the head coach of the Delco Phantoms 18U & 16U AA teams.

Anyone wearing any type of Flyers apparel can purchase a ticket for $6.
