Rebellion Sign Kourtney Salvarola

Washington, PA-The Pennsylvania Rebellion, presented by the Coury Financial Group, are pleased to announce that they have added former University of South Florida shortstop Kourtney Salvarola to their roster.

The Arnold, MD native joins the Rebellion after an impressive career at USF. As a four-year-starter with the Bulls, Salvarola finished her NFCA career batting .322 with 209 hits and an all-time record of 36 home runs. Salvarola is also cemented in the USF record books in the categories of doubles (10th all time with 37), RBI (fourth all time with 150) and slugging percentage (third all time at .566).

"I'm super honored that I can join the team. So far the group of girls are very welcoming, sweet and encouraging during this transition from college to pro," Salvarola said. "This is my first game that I'm able to play and I'm excited to share this experience with my teammates."

Salvarola has also represented the United States in previous seasons. She has won numerous awards while wearing her nation's colors, including a gold medal at the 2013 Pan American Games Qualifier and a silver medal at the 2013 World Cup.

As much as she is a standout on the softball diamond, Salvarola also shines off the field in areas such as academics and community service. In her time at USF, Salvarola maintained a 3.87 GPA and completed two full-day teaching internships in her field of elementary education. Additionally, she was a 2014 candidate for the NCAA Senior CLASS award given to the senior student-athlete that best exemplifies excellence in the four Cs of community, classroom, character and competition. Other Rebellion players that were chosen as 2014 CLASS candidates include pitchers Tatum Edwards and Dallas Escobedo as well as outfielder Andie Varsho.
