Mississippi Surge News Release
Give Thanks: The Mississippi Surge will sandwich two games this week around Thanksgiving. The Surge hosts the Columbus Cottonmouths Wednesday at 7:05 p.m. then will head to Louisiana to take on the IceGators Friday at 7:05 p.m.
Big Weekend: Mississippi swept three games last weekend, beating the in-state rival Mississippi RiverKings 4-3; having their biggest offensive output of the season in an 8-3 win over the Huntsville Havoc; and defeating Louisiana 5-4 in overtime.
Good Start: The Surge acquired left wing Branden Kosolofsky from the Augusta RiverHawks and he made an immediate impact in the three wins last week. Kosolofsky had two goals and three asists for five points and was +1 in the three games.
Good Move: Defenseman Brad Good has been loaned to the Orlando Solar Bears of the ECHL. With an open roster spot, the Surge signed right wing Payden Benning. He had an assist in his first game with the Surge at Louisiana.
Long Road: Wednesday's game will be the final home game for three weeks for the Surge. The next six games will all be on the road and the Surge won't play at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum again until Friday, December 14 against Fayetteville.
