Reapers Join AIF

Maryland Reapers News Release


Laurel Maryland gets a professional indoor football team. The team will be known as the Maryland Reapers.The team will wear the colors of Black, White and Silver.

"Fans of the Metropolitian area have been cheated with prior indoor football teams here with all of them folding. Well I can say that we will make sure the Reapers don't fold. Our biggest focus is giving back to the fans and the community," say's Head Coach Matthew Steeple. Our vision is to give the fans a product that they can be proud of and claim as their Home Team."

Mr. Thompson and Ms. Rhone saw the need for Indoor Football to be back in the state of Maryland and they ran with the chance to put a team together and compete in the American Indoor Football, known as the AIF. Mr. Thompson and his Co-Owner Nichele Rhone which is the ownership group of the Reapers have been working hard and making sure this thing will be ran correct and focused on the fans and the sponsors. They have strong ties to the community and local Boy's & Girls Clubs. The combination of this group brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from both a business and football industry side of things.

As a group the Reapers have been working hard behind the scenes since June and have already secured many of the items the team will need for the 2012 season . In addition the team will be playing at the (GARDENS ICE HOUSE) in Laurel Md, and will seat up to 2,000 fans.

Owner Tom Hendricks of the Arena say's he is excited to have something of the caliber in his venue starting in March: "We have never done this before and we look forward to working with the Reapers."

The team will practice at the arena as well and play their home games their. We will start announcing some of our players who have signed later on this week along with the rest of the coaching staff.
