The remaining eight MLS teams will enter the prestigious tournament upon the commencement of the fourth round in early August.

The Thunder advanced to the third round of the U.S. Open Cup tournament by beating the Chicago Fire Premier Wednesday night by a score of 2-1 at Griffin Stadium in St. Paul, Minn. Minnesota have been playing in the United Soccer League for the last five seasons and have played in 165 games, amassing a record of 118 Wins, 46 Losses and 1 Draw, scoring 349 goals and allowing just 165, compiling a winning percentage of .715.
RSL RESERVES 2, SPOKANE SHADOW 0: Real Salt Lake's reserve squad earned its fourth exhibition victory with a 2-0 win Wednesday night against the Spokane Shadow at Joe Albi Stadium in front of 2,802 fans, with RSL goals scored by DF Matt Behncke and FW Dipsy Selolowane.
RSL started aggressively creating an early attack on the goal in the first half. MF Seth Trembly made a breaking run down the right connecting a pass to the feet of FW Jamie Watson whose shot was saved on the line by Spokane âkeeper. RSL jumped on the scoreboard first when MF Leighton O'Brien tapped the ball to DF Matt Behncke on a free kick, with Behncke rocketing a shot into the back of the net in the 38th minute. The first half ended with RSL up 1-0.
Real started the second half with three substitutions, bringing on MF Kevin Novak, FW Jordan Cila and DF Sergio Flores. Both teams continued to battle for possession, with RSL forcing the Spokane âkeeper to make several saves from shots taken by Cila, Kreamalmeyer and Selolwane. With just 15 minutes left in the game, Kreamalmeyer was taken down in the box by the Shadow GK, forcing a penalty kick taken by Selolwane. The Botswanan international converted the attempt in the 75th minute to give RSL a 2-0 advantage.
