
Real Phoenix Signs Five Players

Arizona's newest PASL Indoor Team, Real Phoenix has announced their first five signings to the club. Fresh off of three weeks of open tryouts the team has comes to terms with Davey Lopez, Randy Soderman, Rodolfo B, "Fito" Callazo, Eric Tate and player-coach Greg Veatch.
"Randy brings years of experience, every team he has played on has made the playoffs," said GM Mike Cudmore. "The same with Greg Veatch, he has played all over they are going to bring high quality experience to this team."
Randy a established veteran of twelve years played college soccer at near by Grand Canyon University. After college he took his game indoor and found success throughout his career being named to All-Star Teams and being awarded Defender of the Year. Soderman has many ties within the Phoenix area, and gave high praise for the local talent that participated in tryouts saying "Usually when you talk about pro organizations starting up you have a lot of talent coming from out of the area that not how it was here, there is a lot of local talent." Soderman played for Phoenix teams Arizona Thunder and Arizona Sandsharks.
Greg Veatch will provide playing and assistant coaching duties to the club. Veatch brings with him years on outdoor and indoor experience. He played in the Western Soccer League and American Professional Soccer League where he played in 21 games for the Seattle Sounders en route to winning the championship in 1996. Veatch has also played for local clubs Arizona Cotton, Arizona Sandsharks, Arizona Thunder and Arizona Suguaros.
The other players signed to the club may not bring with them the years of experience Randy and Greg have but GM Mike Cudmore feels confident with the ability and talent they will bring to the club. "We obviously signed a goalie, Eric Tate and along with Davey Lopez they have played this high caliber before along with a few other players we have not yet signed."
Davey Lopez originally from Indiana, played locally at Grand Canyon University. The season doesn't kick off till November 4th, but Davey is already counting down saying "I've been waiting for it, waiting for someone to come and and do the right things, Phoenix needs it."
Due to the amount of players that have shown up for the tryouts, Real Phoenix will continue their open tryouts at Phoenix Soccer Centre in Central Phoenix. Next tryout date will be September 30th from 4pm-7pm.
