HERRIMAN, Utah - Real Monarchs have signed 16-year-old United States Youth Men's National Team midfielder Sean Petrie from FC Barcelona's Residency Academy in Casa Grande, Arizona.
Petrie, 16, spent two years in the Barca Residency Academy during which he received an invitation to train at FC Barcelona's historic La Masia for a two-week training stint. This past December he was named by MLS NEXT as a Player to Watch for the MLS NEXT Fest.
On the international stage Petrie has earned several call-ups to the United States Youth National Team, most recently competing with the U-16 squad in the International Dream Cup where he scored the game winner in a 2-1 win over Japan.
