EL PASO, Texas - Real Monarchs (4-17-5, 17 points) fell 1-0 to Mountain Division foe El Paso Locomotive at Southwest University Park, officially eliminating them from USL Championship playoff contention.

The Monarchs found its first clear-cut chance of the match in the 58th minute, but Haroun Conteh's shot was pushed up and over the top for a corner. Locomotive FC were gifted the breakthrough goal in the 68th minute when Eder Borelli's cross into the box deflected off of Ibrahim Bancé and into the back of the net to give El Paso the 1-0 lead. The Monarchs staged one final attack in the fourth minute of added time, but Leo Torres' low cross into the box was cleared away by the Locomotive defense and the match ended 1-0 in favor of El Paso.
